Guppy Program
For Swimmers Ages 3–5
The Guppy Program is designed to introduce our youngest athletes to the water in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Our primary goal is for every child to improve their skills and have a blast while building a lifelong love for swimming.
To ensure the safety of all swimmers and the effectiveness of our coaching, we require all Guppies to meet the following criteria:
- Age: Swimmers must be between 3 and 5 years old.
- Independence: Children must be comfortable entering the pool and participating independently. Parents and siblings are not permitted in the water during Guppy sessions.
- Potty Trained: All participants must be fully potty trained.
- Eagerness to Learn: Our coaches focus on foundational skills like blowing bubbles and getting faces wet. We find the highest success rate occurs when a child is interested, eager, and engaged.
We understand that every child develops at their own pace. If a child is currently scared, unwilling to enter the water, or crying during sessions, it may simply mean they aren't quite ready for a group environment yet.
If your child does not yet meet the requirements above, we still want to help! We offer private one-on-one lessons with our experienced coaches for a separate fee. These sessions are a fantastic way to build confidence and bridge the gap until they are ready to join the full Guppy shoal.
Our coaches use play-based learning to master the basics:
- Submerging and "blowing bubbles."
- Developing basic stroke movements.
- Water safety and pool etiquette.
- Building the confidence to move toward the main swim team!
